Playing in their first game since November 24, the Bellarmine women’s basketball team took to the Knights Hall court and came away with a 61-55 win over Lee University Lady Flames.
It was a gritty, resilient performance by the home team as they not only played their first game in nearly three weeks, but they did so without leading scorer and rebounder Darion Hutchinson. The 6-foot forward is out due to a stroke she suffered on Nov. 25. Hutchinson is currently showing no effects of the event, but she will be kept out of action for an undetermined amount of time. She was averaging 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
