Cougars Roar Their Way To District Title
Holy Cross downs Butler 2-0 to take crown
After easily dispatching host Western 2-0 (25-5, 25-5) on Monday night in the first round of the 22nd District Tournament, Holy Cross High School faced a more formidable opponent on Tuesday night in Butler and still came away with a 2-1 (25-23, 25-21) victory in capturing the district championship.
The Cougars (20-8), who also defeated the Bears (22-11) during the regular season, won its eighth consecutive match and is now 12-1 in its last 13 matches. With the district title win, Holy Cross should have a favorable seeding for the regional tournament, which begins on Oct. 18.
