Local Catholic teams dominated 2010 season

The Sentry Insurance All-Catholic Teams represent the best of the best when it comes to student-athletes in the Louisville area. Players are selected based on nominaitons and feedback from local coaches and staff.

One look at the teams left in the state field hockey tournament's final four was all you needed to know about how successful a season it was for the Catholic teams in the Louisville area.

With Mercy, Assumption, and Sacred Heart occupying three of the four spots, it's easy to see why 2010 was a great year on the pitch for local Catholic squads.

In late October, SHA captured another state championship after defeating the Rockets 2-1. Valkyries senior Emily Stewart knocked home the title-winner during the game's final seconds.

Below are the young ladies who were the best of the best this season, and ultimately played their way onto the All-Catholic Field Hockey teams.
