Trinity High School freshman takes on the Questions

Each week, LouisvilleCatholicSports.com will be getting to know a new student-athlete from the area by asking him/her a series of 20 key questions - some in-depth, some lighthearted - that will provide insight into the thoughts and personalities of the boys and girls who are doing great things on and off the local courts, fields, tracks, and courses. Below are the "20 Key Questions," brought to you by Key Financial Mortgage LLC.

By swimming the 50-freestyle event in 20.83 seconds during the Pannell Swim Shop/KHSAA State Championships at the University of Louisville’s Ralph Wright Natatorium this past weekend, not only did Trinity High School freshman Thomas Cooper win an individual state championship, but he also set a new school record and was the only freshman to win an event at the state meet.

Cooper’s times in the 50 free and 100 free (runner-up at state) broke school records set by John Kinney  last year.

Cooper’s 50 free time of 20.83 seconds makes him the fourth fastest 50 free swimmer in the history of Kentucky high school swimming and he was one of the five finalists for Outstanding Swimmer of the state meet. Cooper was also one of four swimmers on Trinity’s third-place 200 free relay team, with seniors Jess Pritchett and Evan Kraus, and sophomore Preston Schilling.

Maintaining a 3.9 GPA during his first year as a Shamrock, Cooper has not begun the decision process regarding colleges, but will certainly be getting some attention from schools after his performance at state.

Cooper recently took part in the newest edition of the "20 Key Questions," and his answers are below.
