GNO themed swim meet nets $1500 for Blanket of Hope Society

On Friday evening Trinity High School hosted its 6th Annual Girls' Night Out at the University of Louisville.  Over 340 swimmers participated, with teams traveling from as far as Franklin, KY, Owensboro, and Cincinnati.  A strong combination of talent and depth earned the Valkyries of Sacred Heart the victory over runner-up Notre Dame Academy. Cincinnati Seton was third followed by Assumption High School.

Sacred Heart jumped out to an early lead when the foursome of Asia Seidt, Kennedy Lohman, Victoria Horsman, and Brooke Bauer captured the 200-yard medley relay in a meet record and All-American consideration time of 1:47.44. It would be the first of several records for the Valkyries on the evening.  Bauer (:23.76 in the 50-yard freestyle), Seidt (:56.80 in the 100-yard backstroke) and Lohman (1:06.22 in the 100-yard breaststroke) all set meet records, with Bauer and Seidt earning All-American consideration.  Seidt also won the 100-yard individual medley, while Notre Dame's Mackenzie Margroum spoiled Sacred Heart's bid to win every event on the evening by placing first in the 50-yard butterfly.

Seidt, Margorum and Bauer were named most outstanding swimmers of the meet, which raised over $1500 to be donated to the Blanket of Hope Society, a local breast cancer support organization.
