Senior from Assumption tackles the questions this week

Each week, LouisvilleCatholicSports.com will be getting to know a new student-athlete from the area by asking him/her a series of 20 questions that will provide insight into the thoughts and personalities of the boys and girls who are doing great things on and off the local courts, fields, tracks, and courses. Age: 17

Current school: Assumption High School

Current Sports playing: Basketball/Soccer

Parish/grade school attended: St.Martha

High school GPA: 3.4

Colleges considering or attending: University of Louisville or Western Kentucky University

Bio: Im 5’10 and I have played basketball all 4 years at Assumption. I played Softball and Volleyball freshman year. I joined the Soccer team as the goalie junior year and played senior year as well.

1. What is your proudest athletic moment? Winning state AAU with the Assumption Basketball this summer. Also becoming the goalie for one of the best soccer teams in the state and winning the Cleat Game.

2. What is your ideal meal/snack before a game? A sandwich from Jimmy Johns

3. If you were trying out for American Idol, what would be your "go to" song? Any song by Taylor Swift 

4. Which athlete do you look up to on a college/professional level? Why? Sara Hammond because we got to practice at UL She came and talked to us and she was so nice and she really inspired me to be a better person. She is also a very good on the court and gives it her all at all times.

5. What is your favorite movie quote? “You know, sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage just literally 20 seconds of just embarrassing bravery and I promise you, something great will come of it” –We Bought A Zoo

6. How does your faith impact your approach to sports? God has blessed me with the ability to play many different sports during high school and I’m so thankful that he has given me so many opportunities through sports.

7. What is your favorite cartoon character? Ariel from The Little Mermaid

8. All time favorite board game? Apples to Apples

9. Droid, iPhone, or Blackberry? Favorite app? Iphone and my favorite app is instagram

10. What is your favorite local restaurant? Qdoba

11. What is your favorite reality TV show? Keeping up with the Kardashians

12. What is your greatest fear? Getting stuck on a roller coaster

13. What is your best quality/characteristic? I’m very outgoing and friendly so I’ll talk to anyone really.

14. Favorite junk/comfort food? Cookie dough blizzard

15. What is your favorite hour of the day? Why? Around 9:30 because I can just lie in bed, listen to music, and relax.

16. What is your nickname and how did you get it? My old basketball coach started calling me Killa during my freshman year but my teachers call me KK so a lot of people call me that now. 

17. Where is your favorite place to volunteer/provide community service? Horizon Bay Retirement Homes

18. What is one hidden talent that you possess? I love playing the piano

19. If time machines were real, and you could choose just one - to travel forward or backward - which would you select and why? I would definitely go back to freshman year and change some things and enjoy high school more because I always seemed to get overwhelmed with school and sports.

20. If you could pick one person, dead or alive, and ask them just one question that they had to answer honestly, who would you pick and what would you ask? I would ask Michael Jordan how he stayed so motivated to play basketball after getting cut from one of the teams he tried out for.
