Mercy Academy LAX player takes on the Questions

Each week, LouisvilleCatholicSports.com will be getting to know a new student-athlete from the area by asking him/her a series of 20 questions that will provide insight into the thoughts and personalities of the boys and girls who are doing great things on and off the local courts, fields, tracks, and courses.

  • Bio: Rachel considers herself to have a happy and optimistic attitude towards life, which "helps her through tough times and helps her look to the future." A member of the Glee Club and Harry Potter Club at Mercy, Rachel enjoys reading in her spare time. You will also never hear her quiet because she always has a song to sing. "I guess you could call me a dreamer, because I always fantasize about the future and make up crazy stories about what will happen in my life," she says.

1. What is your proudest athletic moment?

Starting on the varsity lacrosse team as a freshman.

2. What is your ideal meal/snack before a meet?

Pistachios

3. If you were trying out for American Idol, what would be your "go to" song?

If I were trying out for American Idol ( which I image will happen someday), my "go to" song would be "Haven't Seen the Last of Me" by Cher

4. Which athlete do you look up to on a college/professional level? Why?

I don't have a college/professional athlete I look up to, I don't watch college sports much.

5. What is your favorite movie quote?

"Well you guys better prepare yourselfs for a whole lot of ugly coming at you from a nothing ending parade of stupid" - Hairspray

6. How does your faith impact your approach to sports?

My faith helps me understand that everyone has a place in God's plan, just like everyone has a job and place on a team.

7. What is your favorite cartoon character?

Spongebob Squarepants.

8. All time favorite board game?

Either Risk or Scrabble.

9. Droid, iPhone, or Blackberry? Favorite app?

I prefer the iPhone and my favorite app is iHeart Radio.

10. What is your favorite local (non chain) restaurant?

Rumors

11. What is your favorite reality TV show?

The Glee Project.

12. What is your greatest fear?

My greatest fear is that I'll never be a famous singer.

13. What is your best quality/characteristic?

My best quality/characteristic is that I have a positive attitude that is contagious.

14. Favorite junk/comfort food?

Pretzels

15. What is your favorite hour of the day? Why?

My favorite hour of the day is 11am-12pm because I usually eat lunch then.

16. What is your nickname and how did you get it?

16. My nickname is "Beav," because Beavin is just too long.

17. Where is your favorite place to volunteer/provide community service?

Pitt Academy.

18. What is one hidden talent that you possess?

I have a very good singing voice.

19. If time machines were real, and you could choose just one - to travel forward or backward - which would you select and why?

I would go backward in time so I could live in a small country town where everyone knew everyone and there were no technology distractions.

20. If you could pick one person, dead or alive, and ask them just one question that they had to answer honestly, who would you pick and what would you ask?

If I could pick one person, dead or alive, and ask them just one question that they had to answer honestly, I would ask Tom Felton, "Will you marry me?"
