A look at the upcoming week for the Valkyries

Recent Results
Basketball: The Valkyries’ varsity defeated Withrow (Ohio) 55-43 on Jan. 26. The freshman team lost to Elizabethtown 39-24, and the JV squad fell 58-30 on the same day. On Wednesday, DaiJia Ruffin had 15 points and 13 rebounds as the varsity downed Assumption 51-44 in the second round of the Louisville Invitational Tournament. .
Bowling: SHA rolled to a second-place finish in the regional tournament Monday at Strike and Spare. The team will compete in the state tournament on Feb. 8.
Cheerleading: The state championship competition, scheduled for Jan. 26, was postponed because of bad weather in the Bowling Green area. It has been rescheduled for Feb. 23 at Western Kentucky University.
Swimming: The Valkyries competed in the Brown Sprint meet on Jan. 26. The team of Sally Brink, Mary Claire O’Daniel, Alli Overfield and Amy Teta won the 100-yard cork screw relay. The 200 medley relay team of Teta, O’Daniel, Ali Nevius and Overfield placed second. SHA senior Virginia O’Brien won the 50 backstroke.
This weekend
Swimming: Sacred Heart will compete in the Jefferson County Invitational at the University of Louisville.
Dance: Sacred Heart’s dance team is competing in Nationals in Orlando, Fla. It will compete in hip hop at 9 a.m. Saturday and jazz at 8 a.m. Sunday.
