OWENSBORO, Ky. --- The Bellarmine University women's tennis team turned in a stellar performance from top to bottom on Friday afternoon to beat ,  Kentucky Wesleyan 9-0 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference tennis match.

Freshman Michelle McFerran led the Knights with two victories, winning 6-2, 6-0 in No. 2 singles and teaming up with fellow rookie Caitlin Hanley for an  8-2 win in No. 1 doubles.

“A road conference win is always sweet,” Bellarmine coach John Mican said. “The Panthers fought hard, but we were in control of the match from the start and I'm more than pleased with the performance.”

Junior Jaimie Clays continued to climb up the program's wins list as the Greenwood, Ind., native moved to ninth all-time, pairing with Abby Day for a doubles victory. Meanwhile senior Hannah-Rose Hagan now sits in sixth place on the list after an 8-0 doubles win with Evann Waschuk.

McFerran now leads the squad with 28 victories The Knights will hit the court again Saturday with a match at IU Southeast at 10 a.m.
