Since 1974 the Louisville Orthopaedic Clinic has served the local area for orthopaedic problems and musculosketal issues. The sports medicine program has team physicians for local high schools which provide sports physicals and urgent care for athletes.

On a weekly basis, Louisville Orthopaedic Clinic is proud to sponsor the "20 Questions" that will feature a high school student-athlete in the local Catholic high school community. If there is a specific student-athlete that you’d like to know or hear more about, email future suggestions to crevell@catholicsportsnet.com

Name: Emily Bean

Age: 17

Current Sports playing: Cross country/track.

Parish/grade school attended: St. Edward.

1. What is your proudest athletic moment? My proudest athletic moment was when I won the 3200m at the 2013 Kentucky State Track Meet and broke 11.

2. What is your ideal meal/snack before a game? Bagel and cream cheese.

3. If you were trying out for American Idol, what would be your "go to" song? I would sing "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus no doubt.

4. Which athlete do you look up to on a college/professional level? Why? I look up to Mary Cain because I think it is incredible how a 17 year old girl can not only compete at a professional level, but can break numerous records and stay humble doing so.

5. What is your favorite movie quote? "Friends listen to 'Endless Love' in the dark" -Happy Gilmore

6. How does your faith impact your approach to sports? Faith is a big part in my sport. Before every race I either pray alone or we pray as a team. It is nice to have the extra guidance.

7. What is your favorite cartoon character? Jimmy Neutron.

8. All-time favorite board game? Apples to Apples.

9. Droid, iPhone, or Blackberry? Favorite app? IPhone all the way. And Pandora is probably my favorite app.

10. What is your favorite local (non-chain) restaurant? Martini's.

11. What is your favorite reality TV show? I'm not a fan of reality television, but if I had to watch one it would be "The Voice."

12. What is your greatest fear? I fear the unknown.

13. What is your best quality/characteristic? I have been told it is caring for others.

14. Favorite junk/comfort food? Black raspberry chip ice cream, cheesecake, frozen yogurt with chocolate chips. I couldn't pick just one.

15. What is your favorite hour of the day? Why? 5-6pm because that's when I usually get home from school/practice and I get to eat and relax.

16. What is your nickname and how did you get it? I don't really have a nickname. Some people call me "Em" and I got that nickname by subtracting the last 3 letters from my name.

17. Where is your favorite place to volunteer/provide community service? Home of the Innocents.

18. What is one hidden talent that you possess? I am somewhat good at art and being creative.

19. If time machines were real, and you could choose just one - to travel forward or backward - which would you select and why? I would go back to the 80's because I think it would be cool to see the era my parents grew up in, what music they listened to, what they did for fun, etc.

20. If you could pick one person, dead or alive, and ask them just one question that they had to answer honestly, who would you pick and what would you ask? I would ask Jesus what heaven is like.
