The St. Catharine men’s tennis team ended its conference campaign losing to Lindsey Wilson 5-0 at home Monday.

While 2014 has proven to be one of the most successful conference seasons for the Patriots tennis squad, winning two conference matchups with one win coming away from home, the strong fire power of the conference leading Blue Raiders proved to be too much.

In doubles action the Patriots fell in a hole early, dropping all three contests 8-0 and giving the Patriots a 3-0 deficit.

The Patriots didn’t find better results as they fell in their first two single matches. Leading off for the Patriots in number five singles, Tyler Glover put up a valiant fight, taking two points from the Blue Raiders’ Vilches but fell 6-0, 6-2.

The match was called early when the Patriots lost the defining point and fell behind 5-0, despite Andre Jacomini leading the second set of his match in number one singles 1-0.

On the women’s side Patriots were unable to overcome the Blue Raiders’ onslaught falling 6-0. The Patriots’ Shelby Rush (LaGrange, Ky.) led the way nearly getting the Patriots a point.

The Patriots will hit the courts for the final time at home Wednesday at 4 p.m. when they host the Indiana University Southeast Grenadiers.
