Rocks and Tigers qualify for bass fishing state tourney
Kentucky Dam marina is where the state championships

Three groups of fishermen from Trinity and a group from St. Xavier qualified for the KHSAA Bass Fishing State Championship this past weekend.

Garrett Morris and Will O’Rourke led the way for the Rocks with a second place showing in the Second Region with the catch adding up to seven pounds and 11 ounces.

Washington County’s Michael Sandusky and Michael Shelton won the region with their catch weighing seven pounds and 13 ounces.

Clay Evans and Trevor Hulsey of Trinity placed fifth, St. X’s Brent Sturgeon and David Brewer came in seventh while Trinity’s Tanner Nettleship and Kyle Muennich placed 12th  as each of the three groups qualified for the state tourney with 41 other groups.    

The state tournament will be held April 25-26 at the Kentucky Dam Marina in Gilbertsville, Ky. This is the second year the KHSAA has sponsored bass fishing.
