Delgado Leads SPSV At Track Sectionals
Bruins well represented at Bay Shore Athletic League Finals
St. Patrick-St. Vincent High competed in the Bay Shore Athletic Legue Finals at Piedmont on Saturday, and many Bruins will be moving on to the North Coast Section Championships this weekend at James Logan High in Union City.
On the boys side, David Delgado will advance in the shot put, as he threw a 44.9 on Saturday. Delgado's teammate, Chris Geul, will also advance in the shot put, as he threw a 46.2.
Rafael Stroud qualified for the next round in the high jump, while Robert Espejo will advance in the 800-meter dash. Naji Patrick will move on in the 100- and 200-meter dash, and with the 4-by-100 and 4-by-400 meter relay teams.
The 4-by-100-meter team also included Bobby Stroud, Alec Saunders and Julian Pilate-Hutcherson, while the 4-by-400 team included Espejo. On the girls side, Lisa Collins will move on for the Bruins in the shotput with a throw of 31.2, and the discuss with a 87.6.
Michelle Gaines will advance with a time of five minutes and 38 seconds in the mile.
