Notre Dame, DePaul and Fordham finish in top 40
Women's softball rankings released before post-season play included three Catholic universities among the top 40 teams. Heading into NCAA Regional tournament play, Notre Dame was ranked No. 17, DePaul came in at No. 32 and the Fordham Lady Rams were ranked No. 37.
All three teams played in the Regional tournaments and they were joined by Sacred Heart College and Iona as two other Catholic schools represented in the post-season softball tournament.
Each of the five teams were eliminated in their respective regional brackets.
