Rees, Hendrix throw three picks in bowl game defeat

The turnover bug that hindered Notre Dame football all too often in 2011 did so again in their 18-14 loss to Florida State in the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando, FL.

The Irish led 14-0 in the second half, but three interceptions from quarterbacks Tommy Rees and Andrew Hendrix kept Notre Dame off the board. Those interceptions led to 7 FSU points.

Irish defender Zeke Motta put his team up early in the first quarter as he scooped up a Devonta Freeman fumble and rumbled 29 yards for the score.

The Irish finished their season at a disappointing 8-5.
